Vi har vetat ett tag (dock bara genom olika rykten) att tv-serien Shadowhunters kommer att visas på kanalen ABC Family i USA, men nu är det bekräftat av ingen mindre än Cassandra Clare själv, som genom en video via det officiella twitterkontot (@ShadowhuntersTV) för serien säger följande:

Enligt det pressmeddelande som ABC Family har gått ut med så är Shadowhunters beställd av kanalen och den kommer att visas. Serien har fått 13 avsnitt för säsong 1. Det betyder att vi kommer att få se dessa 13 avsnitt varesig tittarsifforna är bra eller dåliga.

VD:n för ABC Family, Tom Ascheim har sagt följande om Shadowhunters:

“Shadowhunters is a big epic saga that will resonate with viewers who come to ABC Family for the Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Twilight franchises,” ABC Family president Tom Ascheim said. “A New York Times best-seller for 122-consecutive weeks, with over 35 million copies in print worldwide, Shadowhunters is the perfect story to share with our audience.”

I motsats till några av de uppgifter vi fått tidigare så kommer Shadowhunters att filma i Toronto, där filmen Stad av Skuggor också blev filmad, de har satt Maj som starten för produktionen.

Auditions för serien pågår just nu, men inget datum när serien kommer att börja finns ännu. När det kommer ut kommer jag givetvis att skriva om det här i bloggen så håll utkik.

Burbank, CA (March 30, 2015) – ABC Family has picked up its first scripted saga-to-series, “Shadowhunters,” from The Mortal Instruments franchise, announced today by Tom Ascheim, President, ABC Family and Karey Burke, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development, ABC Family. The series will go into production this May in Toronto.

 

Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows 18-year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon.
