David Castro kommer att ge liv åt Raphael Santiago i Shadowhunters.

 

Raphael är beskriven som en "elegant, snygg och välklädd vampyr" som "är ambitiös och listig, och som försöker att bli ledaren av New Yorks vampyrklan."

 

Cassandra Clare har sagt följande om valet av David som Raphael: "David gav en blandning av charm och odräglighet på sin audition och jag ser fram emot att få se honom." Hon fortsatte med: "Jag såg först David när han gjorde audition för en annan roll, men hans energi smittade av sig. Han ger charm och odräglighet till Raphael. Jag kan inte vänta på att få se honom spela mot de andra skådespelarna!"

Detta blir första gången som Raphael kommer vara med i en filmatisering, då han inte var med i filmen Stad av Skuggor.

Burbank, CA (June 4, 2015) – ABC Family has cast David Castro (“Red Zone”) as Raphael. It was announced today by the network. Castro will be a recurring guest star on the series.

 

Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows 18-year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother, Jocelyn, is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.

 

An elegantly handsome, well-dressed vampire, Raphael is ambitious and cunning, aspiring to lead the New York vampire clan.

 

“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. McG will also direct the first episode. The network has previously announced Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood for the role of Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.
